About
Pecos Valley Physician Group is pleased to welcome board certified Pediatrician Angela Asom, MD to its team of skilled healthcare providers. Dr. Asom earned her medical degree at the University of Benin in Nigeria. She completed Internships at Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria and Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, followed by Residencies at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Asom also completed her Master of Medical Management degree at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Asom has provided pediatric care in a variety of clinical settings in both Nigeria and the United States and has served as a Clinical Associate Professor at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She also has experience as a Medical Science Liaison, working with pharmaceutical companies in such therapeutic areas as oncology, hematology and psychiatry, and providing guidance and training to other healthcare practitioners.
Dr. Asom is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Member of the Medical Staff at Carlsbad Medical Center.
